DARK-SKY PARK

The Bükk National Park was established on 1977 and it is the third national park in Hungary, but the first one in a mountain area. Since 2012, the park offer a variey of stargazing and nocturnal environment events, and it was designated as a Dark Sky park in 2017. Light pollution is measured by the introduced fixed station installed in the peripheral (buffer) zone of the park, but mobile measurements are also organised occasionally in the area.
